endlessly painting deer

I've been painting these deer since about 1991.
Often from the same image, the cover of:
"Getting to Know Nature's Children: Deer" .

The deer represent gentleness, calm, peace, innocence.

The deer represent 'pretty pretend deer in pretty pretend fields'.

The deer can be a place for the traumitized girl engaged in dissociation as a safe place to soar to pretend fields upon the clouds.

It is the activity happening behind the deer on paper or canvas that interests me as well. the mess behind the placid, serene image.
